THE 5 DAY, 2012 CLASS is based at Sorensen's Resort in Hope Valley. JOIN THE EXCITEMENT of painting on location with Lady Jill Mueller at 7,000 feet in the High Sierra. Your paintings come to life as you come alive to the embracing fall air, aspen groves ablaze with color, with camaraderie in the afternoon around the cafe fire. THE CLASS STARTS MONDAY MORNING on location with a demonstration and class participation. Daily classes are from 9 AM to 1 PM. Locations vary, such as Hope, Faith and Charity valleys, Carson Pass, Sorensen's Resort,etc. THERE WILL BE A CLASS CRITIQUE at the end of Wednesday and Friday, with plenty of daily one-on-one help. Jill will demonstrate her transparent watercolor techniques with emphasis on capturing drama with values. Towards the end of the week she will explain and show finishing paintings. Please note: all classes are held plein-air ( in the field ) so students need to have some experience painting in the field. Beginners are welcome, but realize that you will be painting outdoors, which isn't the easiest. You will however, gain a great deal of painting information working alongside Jill. Questions? They do offer a discount that week, 4 nights for the price of 3. Most cabins are self-catering, with kitchens. They have a cafe serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and can provide picnic bag-lunches, upon request, preferably ordered the night before. Also there is complimentary coffee, tea, and cocoa as well as a complimentary glass of wine each afternoon....all served up to 5:00 PM. Cancellation Policy - See below. May 4, 5-6, 2012	WASHOE VALLEY PAINT OUT WITH LADY JILL
JOIN THE EXCITEMENT OF PAINTING ON LOCATION WITH LADY JILL. Daily classes begin at 9 AM and continue to approximately 1 PM. With the backdrop of the snowy Sierra Nevada range, we will find peaceful places around Washoe Valley to set up our easels and paint. Jill always begins with a demonstration explaining her ways with transparent watercolor. Thereafter students paint the scene with plenty of one-on-one help from Lady Jill. In the case of inclement weather we will retire to Jills studio. Beginners with some experience painting in the field are welcome. Lady Jill tailors her classes to the participants, with no hard and fast rules. They are a lot of FUN!   Class Fee: $60 per day or all three days@ $ 150
March 24, 25 2012	`` GET YOUR PAINTS WET WITH LADY JILL``
This may very well be the class you have been waiting for in your struggles as a water-colorist! You have been painting awhile and either you are aware of your constant mistakes, or they are there and you can't put a finger on why the pieces always turn out the same. Maybe you'd like to be selling more of your work. Or maybe your work isn't getting into juried shows. It could be color choices, composition, values, and that mysterious technique called layering! I will begin this class, as usual, tailoring to the participants by getting to know exactly where each student is in their watercolor studies. From there it will be different. I will ask each participant to fire at me where they are having problems in their painting. I will then demonstrate a solution. For example rendering trees that are fresh, lively, and transparent instead of all solid overworked green mud. Thereafter the student will practice their solutions with my assistance, of course. I have designed this two day course to hopefully get painters over a hump in their painting skills and on to better painting. We will work within my studio setting. I will finish the class Sunday with a one-on-one critique. Class is limited to 5 students each day. Preference will be given to those doing both days.   Class Fee: $ 60 per day, or $ 100 both days
